Agreed. I'm excited Chinese coming out with 600+ mile range\10 minute charge. We need that for rural areas. Maybe 3-5 years away here. It seems like there is no turning back now, only a slight, but annoying delay. FYI - got my 312 mi 2025 AWD Chevy Equinox LT2 w/ sunroof OTD for $31K after rebates.

Yes, I understand and glad to see the growth. However, many people "need" in the sense of comfort, convenience, and security to make the jump to EVs. Specifically renters and people that can't/won't install a charger at home. Most people do not want to charge daily/every other day.

I didn't need a 400-500 mile gas tank, but it's convenient and I liked it. I have 2 EVs and both have 300+ miles. I wouldn't have gotten them otherwise. Range anxiety is real and many people will need 300-500 mile range to make the switch. Especially with limited charging infrastructure in the US.

100% manufactured. I've heard no complaints. They need something to complain about other than Epstein and the economy. Who cares about an ad campaign that has a hot model? We all expect that. Especially one with some meat on her bones. They are weird and focus on unimportant and/or imaginary issues.

I asked ChatGPT for the anagram of Enigmas: gamines (plural of gamine, meaning a girl with mischievous charm)

Enigmas never age = Gamines never age = girls with mischievous charm never age

If we are going to lean into conspiracies, then this maybe Epstein's code word. Maybe this is their "secret"

Maybe a word Epstein used as a cover and Trump parroted.

Ha! Well that's probably true, but Jeffrey might have known and used the word enigma to refer to his girls. One can assume that is the secret.

I am on a consumer break as best I can. I am sure I'm not alone right now as we prepare for the tariff and low wage worker shortages impacts later this year.

Yes, $7500 was the Fed tax credit, and the rest was direct from Kia. Battery costs came down something like 20% YOY, so I have to imagine pricing will come down soon or stay flat for a while. Especially on the bigger vehicles with expensive batteries. The recent estimate for EV9 battery was $11-13K.
July 7, 2025 at 4:51 PM
I love my EV9. The problem is pricing, maybe a bit range anxiety on the long trips with limited charging options. I got nearly $15K off my lease making my EV9 cost reasonable for our family. There were a number of complaints about availability in the EV9 Forum on Reddit, so inventory issue recently.

Bill Burr would be great, but he'll never want to do it.

Sad there isn't universal free school lunch in America. Zero excuses this doesn't exist.

Ah yes, Infrastructure Week has shapeshifted into Trade Deals Week. Can’t wait for next week’s episode: “95% Done: Just Waiting on final approvals.”

Nah, I am slowing down and saving my money. This could be a bumpy ride. I'll sit out spending as much as possible for now.

Which religion?
May 5, 2025 at 1:46 PM
Huh? I'm not really sure what you argument is. It's the main law of the land before all other laws. Good luck getting it repealed.
May 5, 2025 at 1:45 PM
It's literally the first part of the first amendment, so no. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;"

Thank you senator Markey! You have done great work and I appreciate that. I ask that you please not run again. Please pass the torch to a younger generation.

Good to see the takeaway is that it has nothing to do with tariffs, mass firing of federal workers, and/or freezing of funding. No, its Biden's fault for passing bipartisan "Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act" and "CHIPS and Science Act" and making the US economy envy of the world. Crazy!
