I read somewhere that this is intentional as it will allow wealthy land developers to buy up the land for a fraction of the cost.

So throughout history there has been between 150 well documented conflicts due to religion with an estimated death count of over 100 million.
Not all religious people are bad, but all religions have caused pain and suffering for people not of their tribe / faith

Religion is the ultimate form of tribalism and hence at its core is based on hate of other tribes and people not in the tribe
