Ozarks nature poet! Waterfalls, kayaks, caves, fossils, shining shells that raccoons leave by the river. I like walking my cat on a leash (!) and scribbling in mudproof notebooks. Author of Follow: Poems and author in Wild Muse: Ozarks Nature Poetry

Two pirates had found this picnic table in Hannibal, Missouri before I got there today. I so wish they had hung around a little longer to share a cookie with me. I want to be Amy, Avenger of the Mississippi!

The old bluff's seeps and springs are dry right now, but beauty isn't observing the drought. Stone County, Missouri

You're right!--Letitia James quickly turned into "kitten hit by car." Which I was supposed to donate money to save...Coco says that's sus.

Up Piney Creek, Missouri Ozarks. The air smells like limestone (a wet metallic scent) and pollen. When you plunge into the lake today, it's cold--then you reach a sunwarmed layer as you bubble up toward the air.

A lesson I learned from Pooh Bear: if you set out on a walk looking for poetry, you will surely find it.

I spent some time in the woods today with this fellow. He is a good listener. He did not have any remarks about poetry to share, but I feel that he knows some things about it.

#favouriteplant When the Rue Anemone opens its sepals along the old bluffs in the Ozarks of Missouri, it knows it is ready for #WildflowerHour.

I don’t have a manicured backyard and so I can have this Walnut Caterpillar Moth-to-Be, which is a better thing to have than a leaf-blower. Poet choices.

I do love birds! So here is good boy Coco, who was "dumped" as a kitten and is only too happy to be on his leash, close to me, when he's outside. He even steps into the harness. The outdoors is full of dangers for cats, too, especially in the Ozarks of Missouri where we have many coyotes.

Good boy Coco only goes outside on his leash! He likes me to be close by him. When he was a kitten, he was "dumped" and he knows all too well the dangers of outdoor-time.
