It will be interesting to watch how it will affect TRY, considering 40 Billion $ decline in CB reserves to keep USDTRY stable.
Important to follow EM closely right now. EM currencies - here is South Africa's Rand as an example - have kept weakening, even as S&P 500 has stabilized. Additional big US tariffs on China raise sharply the risk of RMB devaluation, which would hurt EM currencies badly. EM smells looming RMB deval.

Hmm..
China has begun to devalue. Moves are still small, but this is clearly intended as a signal to Washington. After all, the Dollar has been falling, so - if anything - the Yuan should be rising against the Dollar to remain stable in trade-weighted terms. The fact that it's falling is clearly a signal.
