The scary thing about a democracy is that the citizens can vote to end it
Why is google responding to an administrative warrant? That should be the big question

You also have 2 years and just as much right as anyone else to get involved and campaign for your perfect candidate to win the D primary

Go for it... If your candidate wins, great! I'm genuinely happy for you

If your candidate loses, then be an adult and vote D

Center-left vs far left is obviously not a fight we can afford right now

So stop this nonsense and join the broad coalition that will be needed just to save American democracy, If it even can be saved at this point

Vote D

By all means, vote for a D that wants to abolish ICE in the primary.

And then, no matter which D wins the primary, vote D in the general.. because the perfect cannot be the enemy of the good when you're living in 1930's Germany

Even a quick look at the last 50 years of US politics shows that D's work to support all Americans and R's work almost entirely for the rich.

Both parties did not create this mess.

It is a major failure of news/media that so many are confused on this point.

Ds need support from moderates and the left to defeat fascism in America. By all means, vote for your preferred D candidate in the primary, but no matter who wins the primary, vote D in the general

It *is* how voting works in the US. If we had ranked voting, then rank candidates however you like as long as Trump/R's are last.

But until ranked voting happens, in the US your options are: (1) vote D, (2) vote R, or (3) no vote/3rd party. With R's supporting fascism, decent people must vote D.

I blame Trump voters, believe me I blame them. I just think they are a lost cause (deep in a cult), whereas I hope that people with enough sense to reject Trump can be persuaded that the moral, strategic, and logical choice is to vote D.
January 27, 2026 at 8:07 AM
Yes, you demand, you feel righteous and superior, and you withhold your vote from Ds. How pure thou art. And then the fascists get elected and not only do you not get what you demanded anyway, but you lose your democracy to boot. Genius!

Go ahead, tell me that you would rather have lived as an average citizen in East Berlin than an average citizen in West Berlin during the cold war. I dare you.
January 22, 2026 at 8:08 PM
Seeing as you're a crazy person, it is comforting you think I'm wrong.

I was going to say more, but it is just too depressing. 3/end
January 22, 2026 at 8:11 AM
America today is indefensible and dangerous. I will never understand why so many of my fellow citizens voted for that man back in 2016, let alone again in 2024. I live in a country where about 1/3 of eligible voters have been captured by a damned cult and another 1/3 are too lazy to vote. 2/x

America has never been perfect, but America has made significant contributions to promoting democracy. It is better for almost everyone that the US prevailed over the USSR in the cold war, and it is likewise better for almost everyone that the allies prevailed over the axis powers in WWII. 1/x

Someone else wrote in a delightfully snarky comment that the Fed carve out from the unitary executive theory is rooted in the judicial philosophy called "SCOTUS owns stock too".
January 22, 2026 at 6:52 AM
Every point I wrote is true. You may not like it, but facts are facts and the moment we abandon this is the moment we start down the road to where the R party is today.

If there were credible evidence of significant election fraud, you can bet your ass that the losing side would sue.
January 21, 2026 at 3:36 PM
You are right to be very skeptical of claims of significant election fraud in 2024:

1. It's someone telling you what you want to hear
2. Not reported/vetted by major news outlets
3. Rs make analogous nonsense claims that Trump won the 2020 election

Wow, must be nice to have an articulate, thoughtful leader. Carney's analysis is spot on.
January 20, 2026 at 5:39 PM
Interesting that he doesn't want to claim Mexico also
January 20, 2026 at 12:08 PM
My guess is he has calculated, accurately, that writing about Biden is safe but writing about Trump is not.
January 20, 2026 at 8:23 AM
Hmm, let me apply your inane logic of retribution and let's see what happens:

D's lost because you didn't do enough to help D's win. Trump is your fault.
