I wondered why the 2020 adaptation of Emma styled it in all caps with a period - EMMA.

Wow, @palmyradelran.bsky.social just said that J.J. O'Neill, the guy who wrote Teenage Kicks (on the right, with the tobacco les paul), never thought it was all that great. Can you imagine? This song is amazing!

I really enjoyed this talk! A nice reminder to keep these ideas in mind no matter what programming language you're using.

If you're wondering how long it takes to read the Jane Austen canon two chapters a day, the answer is about four and half months!

Pride and Prejudice
I just finished Pride and Prejudice (1813) by Jane Austen. So so good. It's easy to see why this book is so loved. This completes my slow re-read of Jane Austen. I read all six of her main novels, tw...

Thanks to Zim and his Halloween costume for inspiring me to finally watch Superman 2025. It was fun!
Somebody get him to a casting call! I can't believe they let a CGI dog have the role when he was right here. You just have to look past the fact that he doesn't really do cars, and he doesn't really believe in taking direction, or baths...

TIL Cees Schrama, who played the cool keyboard part on Venus by the Shocking Blue, also played with Golden Earring!

In return, several members of the Golden Earrings played on his records!

I just finished _On the Calculation of Volume II_ by Solvej Balle. I found it very surprising, so I don't want to say any more for fear of spoiling it. I will say that book III cannot come out too soon!
