Her earlier monograph, ‘The Pixelated Prisoner: Prison video links, court ‘appearance’ and the justice matrix’ (Routledge, 2018) was based on her PhD thesis.

Associate Professor Carolyn McKay is recognised for her research into technologies in criminal justice. She is currently completing an Australian Research Council DECRA: 'The Digital Criminal Justice Project: Vulnerability and the Digital Subject'.

Her master’s studies and fieldwork were supported by a scholarship and research grant from the JN Tata Endowment. She completed her undergraduate degree in law and social sciences at NALSAR University of Law, India and graduated with a gold medal.

Shagun Bhargava is an Assistant Professor at the School of Law, BML Munjal University, India. She earned an MPhil in Criminological Research from the University of Cambridge, where she received a distinction on her thesis titled ‘Parole Decision-Making in Delhi’.

Clare Williams is an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Birmingham. She completed her PhD at the University of London before undertaking an ESRC-SeNSS postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Kent and taking up appointment as a lecturer there.
