If the world knew a little more of the nature of this State, its history, they would have been interacting with Russia differently.
For our nations it's definitely worth fighting for independence because the alternative is degradation and dissipation.

My son got in so much trouble for saying Santa does not exist to his classmates. They were 9. The parents were mad at us

There is a lot of uncertainty today in the world, and it's great to have an open mind, flexibility, and opportunities to move if we decide to do that again for some reason. There is enough capacity and context in our identity to include more layers to it.

Or Israel today? For now, we are very happy in Mexico City. It's such an amazing place. For us, it's the best. But would it be our permanent 'forever' place to settle? I don't think so. We'll see.

There were quite a few places that did not feel like home, and I did not stay there. We are free to move, free to make mistakes, go further to find a better place, greener pastures. We are all nomads today. I feel so lucky not being stuck with Russia as my 'home.' Who wants this home anyway?

I connect immediately with any indigenous people everywhere; we have the same story of colonization and struggle. We get each other. Some think it's important to have one 'home,' but for me, especially with my Mongolian nomadic mentality, 'home' is where I decide home is—where I make it home.

and such. I am not a traditional person, but I understand their ways, their respect towards older people, and things like that. We get each other. I love to hang out with Russians (well, it's complicated these days, but if they are supporters of Ukraine, we immediately form a special bond

and I hang out with all the Asian parents too. And though I consider myself a Western person, I always feel a very special bond with Koreans and Chinese (less Japanese for some reason; well, we know they are almost aliens :)). Because I am Asian too, we sometimes experience the same stereotypes

It felt like home meeting Mexicans there too and eating Mexican food with them. It's always nice to meet Israeli travelers around the world and startle them by speaking Hebrew with them (they NEVER expect that). I hang out with the Canadian parents from my son's school,

They get each other more than anybody else. They know they are not only X or Y, they are also Z and much more.
I simply love it. I love all the rich dimensions it's adding to our life.
I remember how great it was to meet Mongolians in Canada and celebrate Naadam with them. It felt like home.

than half of his life. He is in an international school with kids with the same complicated backgrounds, and they are getting along perfectly. They feel they are in their own tribe, even though some come from totally different cultural combinations.

and then adding many more layers after living many years in other countries.
The same is with my husband, who is Jewish from the Soviet Union (lots of interesting baggage). Our son was born in Israel but lived most of his life in Latin America. He has now lived in Mexico for more

has awakened our nations and reminded us which Unions we really belong to culturally (Mongolian, Turking, Finno-Ugric etc).
Enjoy the great music and the nomadic spirit of Bashkir people, who has shown the strongest opposition to Putin's dictatorship in the last decade.

the words were something like: "I am a Bashkir (Tatar/Buryad/Sakha..) but in my soul I am a Russian'. This is a good respond to this awful orchestrated campaign.
Turkic nations of Russia show who they really are. The stupid treacherous war against Ukraine
