For me the film feels much more like a coming of age drama about a young gay guy exploring his role in bdsm sub-culture, not a romantic comedy

Fully agree with u, there's a cognitive dissonance between what the producers want us to see and what they're actually showing.

If you enjoy bookstores there's a few good ones in Kreuzberg.
Keller Kreuzberg is a queer bookstore (and toy shop, highly recommend), She Said is a feminist bookstore and café, ivallan's is a second hand bookstore, very cosy.
