My mold has lost a lot of integrity and there wasn’t much detail to begin with. I also would’ve wet the clay and really smoothed it into the mold if I’d done it again. High potential, low cost, playing around with clay is always fun

Later I also casted it in air dry clay. The feel and texture is very close to what I wanted. Could be heavier, but I have a lot of metal washers for just that

I primed this to limit the crumbling, and am starting to paint it: just to see what painting it is like, and I was in the mood to paint. it is noticeably sturdier and less crumbly. This size really loses a lot of detail. I wonder if I could make it more dramatic without increasing total area much.

It fell apart very quickly, no surprise there. So I glued together a little cardboard enclosure and a very sloppy foam padding around the cable to prevent it from getting moved a ton. Hopefully this holds up until I get the printer fixed

I have some ideas for a little enclosure and mechanism. Once I fix my 3d printer maybe I’ll design something more clever and compact, but this was something I’ve been meaning to do for ages which didn’t take too long at all once I actually tried. Many such cases

My mold tore, rather severely. The positive is still in good shape, but the Silinot isn’t, I imagine I could “glue” it back together with some more Silinot. maybe it’s a sign to go with silicone for real?

The cast turned out decent. The plaster is extremely crumbly and soft, I don’t know why I was expecting something tougher and heavier. So not really what I’m after, but a useful learning experience. Not sure what material would actually be best here.
