🌈 Is there anything more magical than standing under a rainbow?

We're getting a hefty deluge of rain in Sackville today, but inside the Gallery, Leah Garnett’s The sunlight that curved to meet me (2018) glows with hope for future rainbows.

🍂 Happy first day back to class!

Back in 1946, Marjory Rogers Donaldson painted what a typical class would look like for her. Painting right in the Owens Art Gallery was a common occurrence, allowing students to learn to paint by copying works from the Owens Collection.

Stitched by Catherine Amelia Valentine in 1830, this intricate piece features cross-stitched alphabets, a rose-bordered frame, and text with delightfully creative spelling, including the artist's own name.
