For anyone who's been following this #guitar build, it's finally finished. Here's a sound bite (excuse the sloppy playing). I'm pleased with how it turned out overall. Special thanks to Terry Cormier for cutting the nut slots and final setup.

#Guitar body dyed black, sanded back, and dyed red over the black. Looks closer to purple at this point but I'm liking the result so far.

#Guitar heel cap installed and shaped. I was planning on contouring the neck right into the body but for structural reasons I decided to go with a traditional Gibson-like heel block. I will contour the body somewhat to meet the heel cap though.

The volute is carved and much of the shaping is done but still a little chunky for my taste. A few more hours to get it just right. It's starting to look like a #guitar neck nonetheless.

Hand carving a #guitar neck is tedious and time consuming but rewarding at the same time. Machines can speed up the process but can't replicate the human touch; the fine tuned details still have to be done by hand.
