The only way you will have ever seen standard class carraige express or commuter train aisle width as wide as that AI fake would have been if we adopted Brunel's GWR broad gauge. We didnt,so here is what a Class 150 commuter train looks like. Single file only.

Tend to get a few solitary wasps exploring my tent campsite up here in Derbyshire and though there maybe variants of honey bees in this area i hadnt heard of the mining variant,so had to do some googling 😊

More of Doncaster

Doncaster. A town i have a great deal of affection for. This is where i stayed in a B & B when i first started having 1 week holidays based on the 7 Day Rail Rover tickets. Some regard the town as run down now but it still has attractive shops. Need to get Robin Hood Airport open again though.

Doncaster Railway Station. One of the most significant junction stations across the GB Rail Network, and a stop on the London-Edinburgh East Coast Main Line.

Part 3 compact cameras can be a bit fiddly switching a dial between modes but if all you are doing is taking photos and not using the zoom much the battery will last an 80 minute game. Trouble is,i was also doing video clips and zooming often, getting thru nearly 3 batteries!

Doncaster Rover's Ecopower Stadium hosting the Rugby League team Doncaster RLFC. Upto last year this was also the home of Doncaster Rovers Belles but bizarelly this season the famous name in womens football are playing at Rotherham United's old ground of Millmoor.

The simple happy face of a man in no hurry on a Sunday morning with a train ride through England's rust belt landscapes between Sheffield & Doncaster and easy to reach window panel usb ports to charge up the phone 😍

Wartime tribute on the rails at Doncaster yesterday 😍

Doncaster v York Knights yesterday. As a Rugby League nuetral i just want to be entertained and though i fully expected York to win the game and have a good away support (unbeaten in 17 games) i hoped The Dons would have at least a couple of trys in them. I got that wrong! 🫣

Doesnt help that the BBC seem to be pushing them up the ladder. Why is the Raynor reshuffle a gift for 4 MP Reform but not a gift for 200+ MP Tories,Lib-Dems & Greens?

Might be going to Doncaster v York Knights tommorow, will check out the weather Sunday morning. For now though,a few photos from Trent Rockets last home game. I have to wait a whole 11 months to feel excited about cricket again.

From loving football to dumping it like a bad ex,it seems somewhat appropriate that having spent my 20s,30s & 40s either traveling to watch Watford FC or keeping an eye on their results that i should end up swapping it for another team in yellow, red & black. Trent Rockets fits like a glove. 😍

Been having arguements with traditional cricket fans on X. They say The Hundred is to blaim for England bieng poor at ODI since 2020. But we have been inconsistant at ODI since 1971. They say The Hundred is destroying T20 Blast. Reality is,some kids are into BOTH the short white ball formats.Look!

Key to success of The Hundred, now just finishing it's 5th year? The ability to appeal to a young audience. This is done by consistant double headed fixtures bieng a 6 hour entertainment event and giving the Womens games equal promotion. The resulting attendances speak for themself.

One of the questions i have had to ask myself watching Rugby League is should i be avoiding teams who are tennants to a football club. This clip from Doncaster v Featherstone provides the answer-no,dispite the double pitch markings, wrong seat colours & only one stand open, the atmos & view was superb

Few brief video clips of The Hundred this year-Trent Rockets final game v Birmingham Phoenix. I don't usually go into the Fox Road Stand because it's thurther from the wicket than i would like, but this stand tends to attract the 25-50 years olds who like a good sing along whilst watching.

More from Leicester Tigers v Sale Sharks earlier this year. Much like hurling & gaelic football in Ireland, there is something to be said for fans mixing together in the ground rather than an allocated away stand. For this game the noise came from Sale Sharks fans in both seated & terrace areas

Leicester Tigers v Sale Sharks,Premiership Play Off Semi-Final,Welford Road June 2025. Having been brought up with football i dont think i can emphasise enough how delighted i was that Rugby Union fans appear to be far more respectfull towards visiting fans.

Not long now till the Rugby Union season in England & Wales is upon us. Here's a few pics from my first ever visit to Leicester Tigers Welford Road earlier this year
