I like to think of him as Stringer Bell type character from The Wire. He’s got the capital to do business but just doesn’t quite understand the nuances of football.

Much like Stringer I kinda like his ambition but it all feels rather doomed.

United fan: love the chart. All further reminders of Liverpool’s weekend loss will be welcomed.

Detailed breakdowns of Mbuemo/Maguire’s goals welcomed. Liverpool being unlucky, welcomed.

It’s been a looooong time since there’s been something to savour 😂

It doesn’t matter where goals come from. Tell me why I’m wrong.

The ownership seem to have allowed their football team to mirror their state economic model.

Norway has to date avoided this over reliance on petro chemicals. Amuses me that City’s Dutch disease stems from a Norwegian.

My fav econ theory: Man City have Dutch disease.

Roughly it’s where a state becomes overly reliant on one export causing issues for the wider economy.

Petro chemicals in the case of city’s ownership, Haaland on the football side.

10 minutes of talking about how the games gone instead? A punditry job awaits.

Wow wow wow, easy on the Milk Cup Beasley. Far better competition than the league cup.

10 minutes feels like a significant time decay in this type of match. Need to roll the dice at HT, 4-6 points behind Liverpool is a steep ask even at this early stage.

The great man just doesn’t care if you’ve got a talent advantage.

Of the 36 remaining United fixtures betting against them will probably be the play for about 28 of them

Got a question for people with much bigger brains than me. Hayden Hackney, £20m. What am I missing that one of the PL sides haven’t done a deal on this guy?

Part of the fun is watching other people believe his “breaking news”. First you are the joke then you’re part of the joke.

Makes for a change vs endlessly renewing contracts (Jones, Martial et al.)

What I find interesting is the contrast between the billionaire owners.

The self made billionaire seems to place value on a no dickhead policy. The inheritance billionaires value accountancy quirks around team value.

Does he have an ugly girlfriend? Strong indicator of low self-confidence according to the film.

Dude’s attitude fucking stinks. Or his family/advisors.

When a young player isn’t popular with the fan base, big alarm bells.

Smart business guy buy at $33. Makes smart business guy decisions. Stock go to $13.

In some ways football is like watching the hunger games played by billionaires. ENIC vs Ineos.

Splitting the cash just ain’t satisfactory in this situation.

Enjoyed the article from a thought perspective if not from a sentiment perspective. Sport is ultimately about winners and losers. The randomness is part of the appeal. Coin flip for £100m, 1 time.
