ah yeah i get what you mean, 3d animation that’s shaded to look 2d often still looks 3d. I am still unsure what you are going for but might if it’s a 2d animation proj, it might be worth it to try filming real dice rolls and then hand drawing over the frames

i’m no blender whiz so this is all thanks to a couple of tutorials from alaskan fx on youtube which i highly recommend! I also just spent way too many hours tweaking colors, lighting, proportions, camera settings, and post processing 🙃

made this render just after doing the cosmophobia cover art/animation, and i wish i had nailed this look before submitting the art lol. Finally starting to get that “realism” look using the cassini spacecraft’s images of saturn as a reference
