Managed to get out and photograph Comet Lemmon (C/2025 A6) last night! This is 15 mins of integration from my Seestar S30, processed in Siril, Graxpert, Seti Astro Suite, and Photoshop.

I thought someone might be curious what it looks like inside the dome. This is the chaos beneath. Everything is connected to a Teensy 4.1, which is what controls everything and will eventually make the game run.

I’ve been working on this side project for several months now. It’s a hand-made ceramic video game? It’s still a WIP, but I got everything wired up for the first time last night so I could test controlling all the lights individually. Exciting step! Now I “just” have to make it interactive. 😅

Some more astrophotography! I captured 885 x 30s exposures of The Pleiades - M45 (about 7.4hrs integration) with my Seestar S30, and processed the data in Siril, Graxpert, and Photoshop. This is an open star cluster and reflection nebula about 444 light years from Earth.

Some more astrophotography! I captured 885 x 30s exposures of The Pleiades - M45 (about 7.4hrs integration) with my Seestar S30, and processed the data in Siril, Graxpert, and Photoshop. This is an open star cluster and reflection nebula about 444 light years from Earth.
Reached a 700-day streak on the Puzzmo daily crossword. 😅 Approaching a two-year streak. I really enjoy Puzzmo’s games.

We pushed up a small update to Kickoff League last night. Now the season schedule has buttons for each previous match in the season, allowing you to jump right into a specific game. And the schedule button now shows you how many previous games in the season you haven’t played yet.

I captured this image of M31 (The Andromeda Galaxy) last week while we were out of the city under dark skies. It’s just over 5 hours of integration on my Seestar S30 (an f/5 telescope with a 150mm focal length). The captured images were stacked and processed in Siril, Graxpert, and Photoshop.

My grandfather, Geoffrey Goss, was a commercial artist and portrait painter. He painted this poster for the Government of Canada, probably 1950s, to promote tourism. He died July 31, 1985.

When we launched Kickoff League, @haoleboygames.com mentioned that it would be fun to have a physical version, and that kind of wedged itself into my brain. 😅
I was off work last week and had some time, so I made a physical version out of stones, some plywood, and paint. It was fun to make! ⚽️

Realized I never posted the completed sundial! I’m not thrilled with how the glaze turned out, but the sundial works! It’s accurate to within about 15 mins, which is pretty good for something made of clay. :)

I was at a cottage last week with my telescope and saw some baby merganser ducks swimming with their mother, so I took a picture, but they were very far away. Also, a seagull. But as I took these I thought “I bet Chris would like to see these.” 😄

Exciting news! This little fluff ball (name tbd) has joined our family! She is adorable, but I forgot how much energy kittens have, mostly at night. 😅

I’ve been learning to darn my socks, and it’s nice to be able to repair my socks that have holes instead of just chucking them out. I spend an evening watching TV and darning, and as a reward I have repaired socks AND I don’t have to go to a store to get new ones!

Finally managed to get a #1 ranking in Really Bad Chess on puzzmo.com! I think that's the last of the three puzzles I'm likely to be able to get a Champ notable for. :) I do the crossword every day, but the people who are fast at the crossword are *really* fast.
