Battlefield 6's campaign is a campaign of all time...so not much different from BF3 and BF4. I'll still take a dull and vanilla story mode over BO7 which offends me on every level by its mere existence despite me never really intending to play it.

So this year has ended up being one of the worst years of my life and now I'm really struggling to find any reason to keep going. The world clearly wants me to not exist and I honestly don't want to live in the world we're living in now.

Battlefield 6 is an example of a game that doesn't respect your time as a player. One of the worst battle passes I've seen, awful assignments to unlock weapons that go against the objectives of gameplay and the unreasonable grind to get any weapon attachments. Battlefield 6 was a bait and switch.

Maybe I really am just burned by the state of multiplayer gaming, but Battlefield 6 is really a round two of 2042's bullshit, but for different reasons.

2025 in general was stacked with tons of great games, and even most of the bad games this year weren't as awful as they have been in previous years. However when it comes to video game corporate bullshit, this has been one of the worst years by far.

If it wasn't for Expedition 33 being so amazing to me, my personal game of the year would be Monster Train 2.

I think the negativity towards Blood: Refreshed Supply is overblown. Tbh the only thing I really agree with is the game not being worth 30 dollars. If you already had Fresh Supply it feels like a slap in the face, especially when the discount to upgrade it vanishes on release day. Blame Atari & WB.

I wonder what people consider the cutoff point for when retro FPS games become modern FPS games. To me I think Half Life 1 was when the transition started and then Halo CE is the true start to modern shooters.

I'm perfectly okay with Halo: Campaign Evolved modernizing the feel and gameplay of the classic Halo:CE. It's a full remake, so it should feel free to go for a new interpretation. The original anniversary version is still readily available on MCC if you want something more faithful.

So a few lines of untested AI generated code basically killed GZDoom, the largest Doom source port and splintered the whole project. A piece of Doom history lost because a shitty head dev wanted ChatGPT to replace the effort of coding.
