A visit to ring at #canterburycathedral this afternoon prior to a service of confirmation. An interesting selection of peal boards in the ringing room, noting peals of Plain Bob Maximus and Grandsire Cinques having been rung for the various enthronements of recent Archbishops of Canterbury.

Replacing a reed sensor on the Saxilby simulator this afternoon has given me an idea… watch this space.

A stroll around #Bosham on a sunny winter afternoon. I grew up visiting here a lot, and it is from this church I got my middle name ‘Edward’. Bosham church is depicted in the opening of the Bayeux Tapestry, and involved Edward the Confessor. Due to the village location, high flood tides are common.

A visit back in September to Alvediston in #Wiltshire to visit the home and final resting place of Anthony Eden, 1st Earl of Avon (1897-1977) and Clarissa Eden, Countess of Avon (1920-2021). Anthony Eden served as Prime Minister from 1955 to 1957, the first prime minister appointed by Elizabeth II.

My first #jigsaw puzzle of the year is underway. Will be a good one to start off with as it’s called “The Puzzle of Positivity”.

Christmas has arrived in #London, at St George the Martyr in Southwark, The Shard and Westminster Hall.

My annual New Year build for last year was Concorde. A limited edition Lego set to mark the 20th anniversary year of the final flight. This year I’m embarking on building #notre-dame cathedral, another limited edition set, to mark the reopening of the cathedral this month after the 2019 fire.

A spot on Silchester Road in St Leonards on Sea while I was on my way to ring my 500th performance on Saturday, at Christ Church located next door. A brief read into Elsie’s life reveals a fascinating woman who led an extraordinary life!
