Hi, welcome alt context! Orion has an auxiliary spinal cord augment that he plugs into is heart that restores the physiological effects of certain emotions he doesn’t otherwise feel. This augment is very physically taxing to wear (especially because it doesn’t play nice with his connective tissue disorder) and it takes a lot of mental gymnastics for him to justify plugging back in when he’s feeling extra unwell on a given day.
