Fab fall plant sale TODAY!! Started as a Covid project in spring of 2020 (seems like eons ago…) we’re now in our 6th year. Many great vendors this time around - beside the tried and true regulars, we’re super stoked to welcome our friends from the legendary Joy Creek Nursery. Don’t miss it!

Our neighborhood plant sale is coming up soon - just a few weeks away! Hope to see you there!

Our neighborhood plant sale is tomorrow (Sat May 3, 11am - 3pm). If you’re in our part of the world, stop by, find a new favorite (or two, or five) or just talk plants with all of us nerds. I spent the morning prepping for the event - it’s our sixth year doing it! Can’t wait! Hope you can come!

For those of you near Portland, OR - here is the flyer for our neighborhood plant sale. It is now in its 6th year! As usual, we’ll offer the cool and unusual, natives, shrubs and perennials at great prices, ceramics, gobs of free nerdy garden expertise, and more. Hope to see you there!

My Easter Bunny planting panned out this year. The timing worked, for a change. (It really doesn’t happen often.)

The fuzzy ”mushrooms” of emerging Syneilesis palmata are so soft and gentle looking. As my mother says - they would fit perfectly into the Moomin Valley, Just what the world needs right now.

More hellebores! They are so pretty right now, and a very nice distraction from all the ugliness out there.

Some flowers to brighten the day; Edgeworthia in bloom in the garden. Not sure if it’s papyrifera or chrysantha - the tag is long gone.

Please join me in ignoring tonight’s State of the Union address, as what you see in this image is exactly what you’d get. Life is too short to fill with shit. 😉

Came home after two weeks in the cold and found my corner of the world in bloom. Thought I’d share in a small attempt to counteract the bleakness of the current state of our battered union. Go outside, look at something beautiful and take a deep breath. Honestly, it helps!
