When I first bought UltraFractal 6, I thought that the UI and UX experience (pleonasm much?) was a straight downgrade from UF 5. I still think so several years later, but I've learned the hard way that the future sucks and I should just lower my standards.

The first piece I made to break through almost five years worth of "hiatus". I was so burned out on making art that my stomach churned every time I looked at my fractal editor, and in turn, couldn't get myself to create art for a long time.

The previous one was based on Geometric-style Memphis designs I found online, and this one tries to look more like the Bacteria-style stuff from the same era.

My previous attempt didn't have much in terms of actual fractal math going on, this one has some actual fractal math working in front stage!

Yeah, I deserve to get shot for this one, but hell. I decided to try out and see how well the 80's Memphis art movement would translate into UltraFractal, and it was delightfully simple to do!

Honestly, I never thought that i could make a spacescape like this to save my life..

Sources of inspiration were FarDareisMai and LeXXe's works, outer space, and as a little twist, the painting " the Birth of Venus" by Botticelli. It's upside down, has fire instead of water and predominantly dark

There's not too terribly much to say about this fractal. I really enjoy the palette, and I like that I contrasted the sharp, string-like lines with the gentle blobs of colour.

Another case of "what the fuck was Fate smoking" back then, this thing took ages to render on my shitty little laptop. I still like the depth of this piece, even if it's 14 years old at this point.

Thank you~ I'd share you the parameters if you ever wanna take a crack at UF!

One of the least subtle, but most obscure references to other media I've titled something over.

So, without using Google, what am I referencing here?

One single layer, two colours. That's all you really need, isn't it? Sometimes, I try to break away from my 70+ layer nightmares and do something with just one layer and one gradient, just to prove to myself that I am not dependent on slathering on layer upon layer.

nos·tal·gi·a (n-stlj, n-)
n.
1. A bittersweet longing for things, persons, or situations of the past.
2. The condition of being homesick; homesickness.
3. Yearning to return to a perfect time that never existed outside your head.

Again, barely a fractal by standard definition, but fBm still counts
