he watches as atsumu's boat sails further and further towards the shore. kiyoomi drifts and hunts in the area for weeks that drag into months, hiding from other ships but never glimpsing the boat his human is on.

kiyoomi follows the boat the next day, trying to catch a glimpse of his human before he has to stop because the water is too shallow, he’s so far away from his usual depths and he can’t risk getting any closer...

neck and carefully drapes it over kiyoomi’s head and kiyoomi wants to die because this human is giving him everything but he’s going to leave. eventually atsumu climbs back up the side of the ship and kiyoomi is distraught and sulking because atsumu didn’t get it.

kiyoomi pulls at his wrist more urgently, trying to get him to come with him but atsumu just gently chides him, letting his other hand gently run his fingers over kiyoomi’s claws. kiyoomi tries different noises trying to get him to understand but all atsumu does is pull a golden chain from over his
