Co-chair of DSA's National Electoral Commission. Member NYC-DSA and Bread and Roses caucus. NYC cyclist.
Published my first piece in Jacobin this week, about cycling, Palestine, and Israeli sports-washing. Would love if you checked it out!
The Vuelta a España, Spain’s premier cycling stage race, saw the participation of team Israel–Premier Tech, organized to promote Israel’s reputation.

Thousands of protesters disrupted the race on Saturday to decry the team’s sportswashing of genocide.

Thanks to 530 donors, we've raised $30k for DSA candidates, more than half of our goal of $50k! 🎉

But we've got a long year ahead of us. It's primary season and corporate cash will flood into our races.

Donate to our slate to take out the trash: dsausa.us/socialistcas... 🌹💸🗑️

Some highlights of the consensus resolution that DSA’s National Electoral Commission just put up on the forums:

- Recruitment of a national socialist electoral slate for 2028
- Establish national endorsement criteria
- National SIO network & accountability
- Chapters to end paper endorsements

DSA members: please go read and sign onto the NEC Consensus Resolution.

It was democratically decided by our mass member body, is representative of its multi-tendency nature, and lays out a vision for DSA’s future electoral work: discussion.dsausa.org/t/cr-nationa...

Seeing people say things like “fire Hakeem Jeffries” is not accurate; this is who the Democrats are and have always been. He’s one of the purest expressions of the party, from this to assuring rich Silicon Valley donors that Dems will move more toward the center. We need a new party.
"What leverage do we have?" says Democratic House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. "They control the House, the Senate and the presidency; it's their government."

I love ball but the Super Bowl jingoism in the Trump era = 😵‍💫. Brad Pitt narrates clips of the army, moon landing and desegregation all cut together to equate football “values” with America. Then Tom Brady wearing a LAFD shirt leads a march along Bourbon St to lady Gaga performing for cops and troops

This weekend, I joined the Starbucks picket line in Park Slope with comrades from BnR. It was exciting how many DSA and UFT members turned out and how much support we saw from drivers on 4th avenue.

SMC argue that DSA should aim to be just a faction within the Democratic Party. As Nick from BnR points out, socialist federal electeds aren't even pursuing that approach, that there's no left-wing faction within the Democratic Party to speak of: www.left-notes.com/p/socialists...
The Left Isn’t Building a Faction Within the Democrats
Recent actions by the most prominent left-wingers in Congress show that they do not want to build an organized faction inside the Democratic Party.

I’ve spent the last three years on @dsaelectoral.bsky.social SC. In that time we have transformed the body into a more active, democratic engine of DSA’s electoral proto-party operation. I know these four will continue those efforts and I give them my highest endorsement!
Elections for @dsaelectoral.bsky.social Steering Committee open Dec 9! NEC members, vote for our B&R slate, including me, for:

🌹 Agitating for independent socialist politics
💪 Beefing up electoral capacity across the US
🔧 Helping chapters run class-struggle campaigns & build strong local SIOs

DSA’s electoral work should aim higher than to be a faction of the Dems. We should carve out our own identity and build a real base for socialist politics. I wrote about ways that @socialists.nyc can use fusion voting and general elections to boost visibility:

Here, SMC abandon realignment and argue for DSA orienting into the Democratic Party as a permanent, powerless minority faction.

If THAT is the horizon for the largest socialist movement in the modern US, what is the point of all this? Why bother?

I love this Zohran video because these are completely normal, every-day people expressing concerns about Gaza, Ukraine, economic precarity, and the hollowness of the Democratic Party that I was told were the exclusive concerns of the far left. Wrong.
Why did so many working class New Yorkers vote for Donald Trump last week — and even more not vote at all?

I went to Hillside Ave in Queens and Fordham Rd in the Bronx to find out. www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7Fc...
