Stopped in at an old friends reopening of Zone de Nutrition juice bar! Fabulous drinks and great conversations. If you’re out and about today in the West Island of Montréal, say hey to Jay up on St Jean blvd.

We continued one of our farm house projects: removing a structurally corrupt chimney. The chimney is not original in the 200 year old stone house, my dad installed this in ‘84. It got only 39 years of use before being declared unsafe, and not possible to put a […]

We don’t go out to eat often, so tonight was a special night. I was thrilled to see the drink menu.

Just received our Christmas advent calendar this week. Looks well made, and packaged, both with care. No sneaky peaks though … 🎄

[Elbows up rant - swearing]

FUUUCCCKKKing stores. Wife and I thought our blueberries were from Canada. You REALLY can’t let your guard down for a second. I feel so stupid about this. In Montreal we were having troubles finding Quebec blueberries in any store […]

Going through a box of my dads bedroom things, and find this wonderful razor. Henson sells these for $99. Back in the day this was the norm, no plastic to break, only quality that would last 60 years and more. Majority of things today are needlessly made to […]

@stephanie Oh, stone wall Saturday? Here’s my stone wall, almost 200 years old this one, from somewhere between 1825-1845 in southern Quebec.

Bugsnag was a nice services. Easy to setup and use. They have become InsightHub and today they have migrated their login to use SmartBear. No idea who or what SmartBear is, but they are now requiring my phone number. More personal data which doesn’t make a whole […]

Opened a wall in our family home. Found a hockey card. Anyone here remember flipping cards?

First time going to John Deere shop for parts, without my Dad. And that was back in maybe ‘77. Pretty much how I remember it. We had a 70s JD1020, I now have a ‘74 JD920. Quite similar, except this is diesel. Rebuilt engine on it with 580 hours, new brakes and […]

Anyone know what these are? Dug up in wet soil. Clear watering when squished. Assuming eggs from some type of critter.

I like to think I am pretty good at adding alt text to my images. Apparently I didn’t add alt text to an image and now I get this bot crap. If the bot wants to be helpful it should simply point out the image in question and remind me to add text. No fucking way I […]

Internet failed between two of our buildings. Discovered a critter found part of the cable quite yummy.

Some DIY magic, a soldering iron and electrical tape and we are back in business. May not be perfect but it works.

Ethernet cable tester failed to see the […]

Second greenworks battery charges up to 79V, never 82V. Opened it up, all wires solid. 15 of 20 batteries at 4.1V Last 5 were at 3.6-3.7V. Now charging each of those cells up to 4.1V to bring them in sync with the rest. Takes about 45 minutes per cell. Should be […]

Looking like an undercharged cell in one of our greenworks 80v batteries. This battery is currently showing up dead when put into a device, but refuses to charge (red blinking light). Going to attempt to charge the weak cell(s) individually.

While looking for a replacement email app for iOS, someone suggested I look at CanaryMail. Yeah, not happening. You push AI as one of only 2 features on your homepage? No thank you.
