I think all of my post 2e criticism of DnD is less on mechanicsl (though I think 3e was a bit of a WTF) - is mostly around their unwillingness to make something new but the willingness to either repost old stuff w/ lest detail or just deleting wholesale previous authors writing/fluff. 4e nuked it.

I love the priest depictions in that book, Demihuman Deities, and Powers & Pantheons. 3e era content has its moments but there was so much fun back then.
