More than 100,000 reports of an outage began at 12 p.m. eastern, but as of 2:20 p.m. eastern the outage is down to a little more than 20,000. Facebook is owned by social media giant Meta, and it is reported its other platforms — Instagram, Threads and WhatsApp — are also down.
