Look through our lens and you will see how much women have been erased from the picture.

Trota authored medical texts on women’s medicine that were used for centuries after they were published.

Over that time, her name was erased from the text, as author, by each generation of male editors.

Bessie stood strong against white supremacy and refused to fly any event that did not allow African americans entry. In an era where racist mobs violently threatened lives, she continuously advocated for education and inclusion.

She toured Europe and the US, returning to Chicago in 1922 as "Queen Bess; Daredevil Aviatrix". She began inspiring women and girls around the world with her notoriously dangerous air shows as a stunt pilot.

1920 aged 27, undeterred by rejection from aviation schools in america due to her race/gender, she learnt french and was accepted into Caudron Brothers School of Aviation in Le Crotoy, France.

1921 Bessie Coleman was the first american of any race/gender to get an international pilot’s license.

She created a new (more intelligent) approach to developing drugs.

She developed treatments for childhood leukaemia, Epstein-Barr, chickenpox and shingles. Organ transplants became possible thanks to her.

It was a new era of antiviral therapies; led by this absolute Queen.

Gertrude Elion receives her Nobel Prize, 1988.

Biochemist & Pharmacologist Gertrude Elion was born.

“In my day I was told women didn’t go into chemistry. I saw no reason why we couldn’t”.

In 1988 she won a Nobel Prize for development of the first chemotherapy for childhood leukemia.

Some yap guy was big resentful of her reputation as a wise genius and launched a smear campaign.

This resulted in a group of men dragging her to a church, where they stripped and brutally murdered her with roof tiles, before pieces of her were dragged through the town and set on fire.
