This was one of my favorite shots I snapped from the 2019 US Van's Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, CA. I believe this was day 4, can't remember the name of the surfer.

Elephant Seals. Another very large animal that most people just can't comprehend how big they really are. And these two young males wrestling in the surf aren't even fully grown yet.

A lot of people don't realize just how massive Elk can get, and this wild Roosevelt Elk that was drawing a small crowd on the side of the highway in Northern California was an absolute UNIT.

Crotalus Oreganus Oreganus, the Northern Pacific Rattlesnake according to a herpetologist friend of mine. Found this little noodle tucked in the dead grass at the end of some canyon somewhere. (Yeah I'm gonna be vague. I don't need crazy people going to my exact spots and doing dumb shit.)

And who says dinosaurs are extinct? Caught this Great Blue Heron stalking the jetty at low tide in Morro Bay, Ca.

If I'm not mistaken, these are Harbor Seals. Caught them napping too. But one happened to notice me and wouldn't take their eyes off of me the entire time I was shooting them. This was taken on a trip up to Crescent City, Ca.

California Sea Otters napping in the kelp in Morro Bay, Ca. Probably one of my favorite cute critters ever. Did you know that they hold hands and wrap themselves up in the strands of kelp while they sleep to prevent themselves from drifting off in the current?

You find enjoyment in bars and clubs, obnoxious cookie cutter music blaring in your ears.

I find enjoyment in the solitude and sounds of nature, the babbling of streams, the stories of stone and the riddles in the soil.

We are not the same.

Avenue of the Giants in Northern California. What an amazing stretch of road and absolutely a must do at least once in your life. Because it's among those ancient groves that you'll be reminded of just how small and young we really are.

Make time to stop admire the creeks, streams and little rivers in your life.

When everyone else is conforming, don't ever be afraid to be yourself and stand out from the crowd.

Sunset over San Francisco.

Likewise about traveling, I often wonder what it is about sunsets that bring me so much comfort. There's something soothing in the darkness.

Driving through Carmel By The Sea with the boyfriend not that far back and we came across this small scenic coastal view drive and this scene caught my eye. Beautiful reflection. Apparently this home is named Sea Glass and it's so fitting.

There are few things in life that make me as happy as I feel whenever I come up this stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway. When I see this, the feeling of leaving behind the oppressive & suffocating Los Angeles area starts to fade and I know that the adventure in front of me will give me life again.
