Haha, because the school system, financial system, transportation system, utilities, healthcare, policing, workers rights, civil rights, and nation defense were all much better before the federal government got involved.

I live in New Orleans, and my rates tripled after my first year here. Then up another 70% and double digit increases every year following.

The fact that insurance companies are making billions of dollars in profit while costs are going up tells you exactly why this is happening.
There just needs to be better regulation at the federal level. Home insurance should be treated a lot like a utility.
