That's fair, I love New Day Rising and Flip Your Wig but both of them, towards the end seem to lose any separation and dynamics and sort of descend into a hissy sludge. I still love 'em though

Bob split the signal through two amps to help him get that incredible metallic tone that is perhaps the defining feature of their sound. OTOH, the SST records were knocked out at a fierce pace and are pretty tinny.
Was listening to Warehouse the other day and it's much clearer sounding

I think he's retired the name and gone back to his own, he's put up a load of clips of him covering various songs in charmingly lo-fi unrehearsed style the past couple of years or so. I don't really know if he still writes

Pretty sure Everett True was the first person I heard make this observation, although I doubt it was original then either.
It's deeply odd to me how some people get annoyed about this, or see it as some sort of vindication
