Makes me wonder if the negotiations going on in the back rooms also included a little cover for Schumer (he voted no) and other Dems. In my state of Virginia, one senator voted yes and the other no. We have a lot of federal workers here. Perhaps Lawrence is defensive b/c he knows something we don't

Lawrence always defends the old guard Democrats. And the reverence he holds for the inner workings of Congress (since, as he frequently reminds us, he was once a part of) gets tiresome.
