My recommendation is to do a little less work in emails. I used to get this because I felt the need to be complete, accurate and comprehensive in all my answers. Now I try and assume the other person has context, ask clarifying questions about what kind of answer they're looking for

I would bet the inevitability of salt water intrusion is a major concern with having electrical components at the point of contact. Trying to keep it mechanical as far up the generation chain as possible probably makes them more maintainable.

Similarly Portland also lowered minimum lot sizes to allow for organic densification of existing neighborhoods. This has led to lots of development of units on oversized lots, increasing density drastically without needing to tear down existing structures and maintaining the look of neighborhoods.

Portland OR abolished parking minimums on new construction. In most of the country, every time you build a building, you have to also make parking, ensuring that car-centric design is king, and walkable density is unachievable. Portland did away with these arcane minimums.

It's controversial with workers. The management and money class are forcing adoption and believe wholeheartedly. Workers who actually have to use the tools are skeptical because they actually see it's fruits and have to fix them up before presenting to managers and money class.

Yeah I feel like these guys are such simpletons that the message they got from Forest Gump was that war is super cool and good and has no downsides, so they probably thought the use of Fortunate Son was just in agreement with that
