I'm 60 and still play. What I see around me are others that aren't willing to change their game, both on the pitch and away from it. I spend 3 months getting ready for a season that runs 3 months. When I'm on the pitch I take inspiration from Messi. Not the magic in possession but all the walking.

I know it won't make a difference but just wanted to note that Canadians won't be there this time.

I'm always saying that myself, aging is a privilege. It really is such a powerful philosophy. No doubt we both have friends who weren't as fortunate.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one. I've always had this 'am I the only one' types of feelings on this. I love being part of the Brighton fandom but watching always makes me want to play so badly. There's rarely a match where I'm not trying to use some skill or strategy I've just seen in a match.

Question for you, John. Given the choice would you rather play football or watch?

I'm 59 and still play 11s. Your game changes. I constantly try to channel Messi - not his skills but his strategic application of effort. ie Walking a lot! I know a bloak who's 79 and still puts in a shift every Friday night in the summer.

I'm very comfortable with those xG numbers. We're playing much more on the front foot and it's fun, exciting and productive. Dear lord some of the play under RDZ frustrated me - up the wing, up the wing, STOP, back to the CB for 20 passes. I loved our results but not our style of play.

Just finished watching it. The overwhelming feeling really is one of sadness. You could sense it from the crowd and even the announcers.
