Occupational Therapy History Matters
@othistorymatters.bsky.social
Spent three years (July 2021-July 2024) ranting and raving about electic mix of #OccupationalTherapy histories from around the world on Twitter. Now mainly editing and creating on Wikipedia.
For the 4th time in a row @theRCOT has not marked a national commemoration. Nothing today about Remembrance Sunday 2025 on Facebook or Bluesky.
Only 'over and out' to OT Week.

Please explain this pattern of ... seems to be a deliberate strategy to ignore solemn rememberance. Why?

2/2 Next example, 'reclaiming the heart of our work' - citing the deep roots in occupation - from the USA.

Love the title of this new book: Woman in Health Management - global revolutionaries.
Includes a chapter about Ann Beckett: A Pioneering Irish #OccupationalTherapist, by Judith Pettigrew, Mairead Cahill and Jennifer O’Mahoney.

@CJOT_RCE is becoming a favourite journal! Why?
Authors take deep, thoughtful dives into topical subjects, often using innovative methods. Also, many free to read articles.
Why not share your favourite #OccupationalTherapy journal?

2/3 Wikipedia year 1. Remember what we did in the first year? Most importantly, we created an entry for Evelyn Mary Macdonald and expanded the biography of Susan Edith Tracy.

1/3 Wikipedia year2! Editing, monitoring and learning continues.
Here's our annual report about the activities to increase the presence of #OccupationalTherapy on 1 of the top 10 websites.

Always happy to share important information, especially when relates to children and reminds of Susan E Tracy, a remarkable founder who wrote about occupation for children in 1910.

Help - we're in a quandary about the #OccupationalTherapy entry on Wikipedia. It's huge! We are planning to do some editing. Any comments or suggestions below would be appreciated. Thanks

Why do we love Wikipedia? Simple - it's all about impact!
It's a free, sustainable way to amplify 'notable' #OTHistory and #OTHistory makers.
It's countering decades of neglect and damage to our heritage.
Check out impressive impact of Nurses in Red @rcnlibraries.bsky.social project.
