Oh, it does. It keeps you from getting into trouble in the first place, so you don't have to dig your way out.
But some people think that if you don't feel an immediate effect like their other meds give them, it isn't doing anything. But their other meds are bronchodilators that work noticeably.

I was a respiratory therapist in the 90s & 2000s, and a huge believer in CS. One thing that drove me nuts was asthmatics who would just stop taking it because they couldn't feel it doing anything for them.
