The grocery stores near me have regular sales but you need to sign up for their stupid app to take advance of the deals. It can be worth it if you have time.

If you have access to stores with bulk food sections; this is where you buy your spices. Do not spend $5-10 for a jar of spice when you only need a teaspoon.

If you have neighbors you remotely like, this is the time to combine resources.

Meal kits taught me a lot about shortcuts for tasty meals without spending too much money. Sour cream, honey, Dijon mustard, chicken stock concentrate (or powder/ bouillon cubes) are good to have on hand if you can afford it.

If you want to cut down the time, pierce them all over with a fork and throw them in the microwave for a few minutes before brushing some olive oil (or other oil) on the skin with some salt and pepper.
