Yesterday the women of Moments of Freedom hosted a community gathering in Clydebank. They shared their work, what life has been like recently and some lovely Syrian desserts with attendees🧁

We had a lovely time last week in Dunfermline for our Fife Climate Wisdom Launch. We made lots of recycled bunting for the project and rainbows of colour with foraged flowers 🌈

The women of Moments of Freedom would be delighted if you could join them on Tuesday 17th June 12:30-2pm for their next community gathering as part of #ScottishRefugeeFestival Week. The event will take place in Centre81, Clydebank in the gym hall 📆 The theme of this year's festival is 'Milestones' and the group wish to celebrate what they have described as being a significant milestone in their lives, the new Dawn of Freedom in Syria, with the wider community. 'Milestones' from the last 8 years of their journey will also be on display We hope this event will bring together local residents, community groups, local workers, elected representatives, organisations and New Scots to mark the occasion over free food, refreshments and creative activities. The women have recently achieved their REHIS Food and Hygiene and will be making their eagerly awaited Syrian dishes and Arabic coffee! 🥘 All are welcome.

It was great to be in Eyemouth for #GreenHealthWeek on Friday. Sea the Change showcased their accessible active travel options, then Penny from Public Health Scotland and Isla from SBCAN discussed evidence and real-life examples of nature connection and climate action for wellbeing in the Borders 🌊

At Outside the Box our bespoke services are inclusive, accessible and creative and include: Consultation as a powerful tool, valuing and connecting people. Evaluation as a good way to show the difference your work is making and the impact for communities and people. Community engagement as a way to test out new ideas, markets or justify expenditure. We can help find out what people think and provide the evidence in a suitable format. We share the feedback in different ways: a classic report, short summary, video, graphic or social media content. We can also offer bespoke training for staff, volunteers, boards, community groups and small businesses. Topics based around inclusion, accessibility, diversity and equality and human rights.

We were delighted to attend the NHS Borders event commemorating COVID and the Remembering Together tartan. We made tartan with our LINKS and Borders Buddies projects. Many thanks to Isobel who helped our Buddies with the tartan.
