It's even closer to tyria than cantha is... how it ever became "lost" is beyond me...

Important question, are either of these ships going to be available as homestead decorations?

Or what if it was someone I do care about, a friend, coworker, or relative? Or someone I do respect and support?

What if I were killed for nothing more than sharing my opinion, beliefs, and political support? What if I left my partner a widow and my children without a parent?

So honestly, the only way they can still pay tribute to the remaining GW1 classes IS by making them Elites.
July 27, 2025 at 8:01 PM
Because they would had to create 4 new elite specializations for it, and dozens of new weapon skills, on top of the base class mechanics. It would also ruin their 3-3-3 class to Armor weight ratio, and the imbalence would upset players.

There are still older staff members from GW1, and some new staff who are gamers and lore nerds, so even if they weren't around, doesn't mean they don't care. Regardless, GW2 IS a different game, and has been since launch. Realistically, I can't see ANet adding any new classes at this point,

Eh, why can't they make the ritualist necro elite be respectful? My point was there is a lot of profession crossover, since they both deal with the dead, just in different ways, so it does make sense for someone from the Necro profession to learn ritualism and visa versa.

In GW1 the first enemies called Ritualists were mechanically Necromancers. This didn't change until Factions came out. It also makes sense, if you think about it, both classes summon the dead, just one the physical rotting corpses, and the other their spirits in ghost form.

Actually, the Chinese poem that came with the shield suggest it radiates light. I wouldn't be surprised if that light is a shield.

Undue Last Action: this feature would save a LOT of heartache that comes from accidently moving or deleting the wrong item.

Expanded Ambient Wildlife: would love to have wolves, foxes, bears, deer...
July 20, 2025 at 2:29 AM
Upgradable Portal: A upgradable, multi-destination portal, such as exist in the Hall of Monuments. Upgrades could be purchased, earned, or crafted.

Crafting Stations: Its weird that outside of decoration crafting, only cooking is present in homesteads.
July 20, 2025 at 2:29 AM
Gem Store Chairs & Novelty Gizmo Decoration Recipes: this seems like a win-win. Those who have already purchased these items, could then add them to our homesteads. For those who haven't, there would be an increased reason to do so. This means more money to ANet without having to design new assets.

Initial Structures made into Decorations: many players I've talked to agree that the starting structures get in the way of our design plans. Some would like to remove them completely, while others just want to move them elsewhere. Either way, decoration conversion would be the solution.

Hardly dense, I knew exactly what you meant, just chose to be difficult anyways.

There is a hunter class? Since when?
July 19, 2025 at 9:55 PM
Just found this on the wiki. The Chinese poem that accompanied the shield icon release: 熔光铸壁 辉甲永峙[27] "Molten light forges the wall, radiant armour stands eternal."
July 19, 2025 at 9:38 PM
Also, the weapon in the picture doesn't matter, since Elites are no longer tied to weapons, so they could use any weapon guardians have available, and it wouldn't make a difference.
July 19, 2025 at 9:21 PM
Maybe a shield made of light, or radiating light? That could be what the rugged edges on the shield incon represent
July 19, 2025 at 9:20 PM
The file name of the picture says it...
July 19, 2025 at 9:14 PM
Personally I think the light kind of looks like the "shield" icon, that's why the "shield" has those jagged edges. Regardless, we actually do know, because the file name of that picture is literally guardian.

That's fair. They could certainly give more without giving everything.
July 19, 2025 at 9:09 PM
That desperation to see more... that marketing working as intended.
