But lately I have been feeling a sense that we have failed as a species to allow for societies to exist in such a way that 1 leader or political party governs the lives of 330 million people let alone over a billion.

Oh. I completely agree. As a Canadian I think that we and possibly every nation in the world should get some amount of say in electing the US president given the outsized influence they have on the lives of people around the globe.

The way leaders are forced from rule in other countries requires sustained overwhelming protests in the streets that halt the functioning of regular society. Usually followed by unbelievably violent pushback from the regime. And then only after refusing to give in do the masses enact change.

The Republican Party has been captured by the concept of the Unitary Executive. The Venezuelan situation allows them the perfect opportunity to show that Congress is useless and should be further removed from the process. Abdication of authority is the project underway.

If we can’t organize ourselves to oppose this we likely don’t deserve to emerge. This beautiful marble we were lucky enough to inhabit will be better off without us.

More often than not anyone speaking on behalf of this admin is either knowingly lying or is too dumb to know the facts they are spouting are incorrect. So without some kind of evidence to back up any and all statements it is just prudent to assume the words being spoken are false one way or other.
