Agreed, I saw/heard this earlier and felt like, if anything, it was one of the lesser unhinged things about Kirk to come out recently. Didn’t really seem to land the way the critics envisioned it would

I’m not saying that we haven’t been less than our best other times. But, for me, most of those games had something I could say was unfortunate, fine margins, something. Today felt more like this team put in an unacceptable performance that, without correction, means we will lose this title.

You said recently lots of changes being that the manager got something wrong. For me, today was on the players. This team has given us a lot to believe in but that was the first performance in the league that was definitively not the stuff of champions, and they have no excuses.

Tbh that’s shameful stuff from Senegal, who I am (was) nominally rooting for today. The penalty take afterwards is incredibly poor and it’s extra unfortunate that all of the Senegalese nonsense basically worked. Kind of a loss for the tournament if the current result holds imo.

I get how one matchday to the next can feel however it feels in isolation. The thing I keep coming back to is the big picture though. If you had asked me at the outset how I’d feel about being 7 points clear in mid-January time, I’d say that would be about as good as I could hope for. Keep going 👍🏼
