RIP Drew Struzan. Masters like him are now an extinct species. The whole movie poster art form is dead.

Also, if the gameplay is designed to utilize these kind of materials, it becomes harder for me to use the RAW, as these days there are not many opportunities for me to play in meat space, and I don't much care for VTT.

Just out of curiosity I ordered Free Leagues Twilight 2000. It's a bloody heavy box. I had the 2nd ed back in the day and played it few times. But ever since it went out of date I didn't bother. Besides I got older and lost my interest all the military shit (having been in the army helped even more)

It's nice to wake up to notice the book I was involved in has won a silver medal! Chaosium's Lands of RuneQuest: Dragon Pass has won the second price in 2025 Ennie Awards - Best Setting! As my name is on the cover, I unscrupulously ride the same wave. Congrats everyone!

Here's a couple of interesting comments I found, criticizing the Age of Vikings RPG cover I made. I personally do not mind my works being criticized, everybody has right for their own taste and opinion, but I want to comment some things here.

25 years ago I thought Japanese Enka being annoying to listen. Stupid young fool I was. Now I sit dressed in jinbei listening to an Enka playlist and think how enjoyable music it is. I am truly turning to an ojisan.

Received these today. I have been listening to @stuhorvath.com 's podcast for years, so I was expecting this book to be good. But I was wrong. It is much better. You could say it is an essential read for anyone interested in RPGs. The other one is a killer jazz album by Ryo Fukui, Scenery.

I'd forgotten that I bought this brilliant murder hobo T-shirt in Japan 25 years ago. I found it while going through my old clothes.

He didn't like how his military parade was welcomed. That's not the way a great military genius should be treated. He wanted his triumph without a war. So he needed to have his mini war. Now he is a conqueror and peacemaker. A magnificent historical figure like Caesar, Napoleon or Hit.. tite kings.

Finally got my artist’s copy. Leaves me wonder when I’ll be able to play it.

If I understand correctly, the two most masculine alpha males on the planet are feuding. How unfortunate! They should apologize to each other. The only way to do so is publicly, during primetime on FOX News, conciliating like this. Alpha bros, please allow the wounds to heal. Let them know.

Let them know this is the only way to heal the wounds. Prime time FOX please.

I found this old sketch. It took me a while to remember why I made it. I think I painted it around 2000 to celebrate the transition from the Year of the Rabbit to the Year of the Dragon with a Japanese friend. It still looks pretty funny, I think. I wish I had a photo of the finished painting.

Run a session of Pendragon today. Finally we get to the Sword Campaign from the Starter Set. The Player Knight happened to among the few to witness when Arthur drew the sword from the stone! How lucky! I just love the game. Such a pleasure to both run and play. Brilliant system.

My job is to bring worlds to life. I like to illustrate subtle stories of the mundane, not just the stories of the heroes. And the heroes are not perfect either. My view is not focused in the middle of the scene. It’s a little bit off*.

I am where I want to be.

While I absolutely love snd adore Angus McBride’s art, this doesn’t look very plausible.

My Japanese ”home town”* beer. Had a pleasant day, which started with 9h11min sleep, which was lovely. Met my best friend. Listened Neil Young & Grazy Horse ”Weld” while driving. Had a sauna. Good times.

* My ”home town” is Asahikawa, but that’s close enough to Sapporo. This one’s brewed in Holland
