The crew is standing like in a movie poster for an action picture; very cool & brio. As they should. They keep us safe & risk their lives to save us when we do stupid stuff on the Pax Mare. Southern Humboldt Bay. Photo taken Jan. 22, W, • 17:46 (~ 20 min after sunset). The sunset itself was much more spectacular but unfortunately it took me about 15 minutes of fast walking to get a relatively unobstructed view. I suspect the 🍊ier than normal hue was, sadly, due to smoke from the terrible fires that hit LA to the south. Due to the lack of wind the waters of the bay reflect the sky like Achille’s burnished bronze shield. Or something. 🤷🏼‍♂️ 😼

The remains of my decadent orgiastic New Year’s Eve binge. After 37 years of sober Janus celebrations I’m still disoriented at knowing where I am when I wake up on Jan 1, that it’s my own bed & not a jail two counties over.
