Just Bluesky being Bluesky. I wonder if the moderation action is intolerance against fungi or algorithms.

My partner's formerly trusty Bernina sowing machine let its smoke out a couple of weeks ago. By magic someone had the exact right kind of power supply board for it and was happy to mail it. Got it installed last week - today it said bang again.

These safety caps are […]

Kinda feel like I'm cosplaying 007 at a casino scene. I hope I'm not walking into a gunfight!

I don't personally use design apps, but I follow them for professional interest. This new "free" Affinity version doesn't seem to be receiving an excited response.

Raid Over Moscow (1984). A game that created a minor calamity in Finland at the time.
It even includes what look like Shahed drones. Episode II is long overdue.

How is it possible that research like this is novel in the Land of Peanut Butter?

A great take by @kissane on Bluesky's situation as the Troll Administration is attempting to invade. I particularly like this bit. ATproto is okay. ActivityPub is okay. They can interoperate quite reasonably. But healthy communities depend on having sovereign say on […]

Email from my password manager vendor. I'm not sure this is what they actually meant to say, because it sure does not sound good.

SAAB's Gripen E was already on a nice roll before today's news, but a 150 jet agreement to Ukraine is HUGE. And, despite the lack of stealth, its electronic warfare and field maintenance capabilities make it an ideal plane for Ukraine.

Eh, I thought he was dismantling the American democracy, but hey why not also the White House.

I mean, we know the Orange One doesn't study security briefings or understand foreign policy, but still, to have something this deranged happen is hard to process.

The Orange One, putin’s useful idiot, wants "both sides" to cease on the frontline and "go home". But Ukrainians wouldn't be able to go home, and russians would still be on occupied land.

When it's just a couple of degrees above freezing, getting started is a bit of a mental effort. But then it's easily couple of hours of enjoying a beautiful day and exercise.

OpenAI's 1.2 GW Abilene, TX data center is powered by a 200 MW electrical substation and a second-tier gas turbine generator because there's no power plant, and other crazy bubble notes from Ed Zitron.

What is more embarrassing: the French inability to create a functioning government, or that that process is journaled on paid X accounts after Macron just said European nations must cut their dependence on American social media?

49% of 4 year old Tesla Model 3 are rejected in Finnish safety inspections due to suspension problems. Other Teslas not doing great either. VW, Hyundai, Volvo and Kia among the least-problems EVs.

I have no idea where to look for the details of Mastodon's roadmap, but this is the item I meant. Anyway, frankly, it may be that something like GoToSocial, Hollo or Bonfire does this better first.

I logged out of bsky.app in my browser, still have deer.social logged in though. But all Bridgy posts and Phanpy's link to source point to bsky.app anyway - and some users have that "must be logged in to view" thing on. Not @quillmatiq.com, but others.

I don't do #silentsunday - more like #activesunday here. But a day trip to the lake house to prepare for freezing nights, followed by a nice bike ride. Past week has been first to feel like autumn instead of (very) late summer.
