This owl popped out of the culvert on our morning walk and spooked my dog. Let the park rangers know it was there. They were going to see if it was injured.

Beautiful evening for a walk. I was thinking this evening that money's never been a motivating factor for me. I worked jobs that I enjoyed, married the only woman I've truly loved, and have had the companionship of several true and faithful dogs. What more could a person want out of life?

This was a nice wildflower area, maintained by the Park Ranger before the administration gave him the option of early retirement. Now the grass rarely gets mowed, the only public bathroom in a mile is closed and use of this area of the park has fallen.
