SoCal’s 2nd favorite and only Orcane he/him
play Persona 4 next because the average JRPG is just so good, I would probably kill them.

Certainly the amount of people playing other JRPGS is greater because of E33 than it would be without it, you just can’t expect everyone to like the genre because they liked the one game. I haven’t gotten around to it yet but if Clair Obscur is anything like what people say and someone told me to

You’re not serious man

Not that ridiculous. They’re both excellent looking games and I really don’t think there’s an obvious winner for art direction between them.

Slay the Princess is excellent. Great experience start to end, lots to see and go back to.

The term Pokemon killer exists solely so the cultlike fan base can get off to the fact that games aren’t killing Pokemon (something that never happens). That and to tout how different these games are for doing anything unique.

I just gotta remind myself sometimes that the hatred for parries as a concept is something that basically only exists among the 40 year olds on this website

Battlestar Galactica is really good

with an active tag from 2005 as examples of how it isn’t actually new I wouldn’t exactly be making my point very well. There’s more to this than just systems. “Oh you like 2XKO? Well Akatsuki Blitzkampf ausf. ache also has a universal 1 button parry so where’s your praise for that?”

Idk refuting claims about a genre being stale by citing a couple games from the 2000s doesn’t really fill me with a ton of confidence about it. Not saying these claims are true, but like, if someone told me 2XKO was innovating a stale genre and I started bringing up niche Japan only arcade releases

Yeah that’s fair. I’m always gonna disagree with the idea that “you liked this game, that means you like this other thing too!” People do it with fighting games frequently and it just never accurately describes how we experience these games, but it ain’t that serious.

Watched Incantation recently. This is exactly what I was thinking to myself as it broke more and more limitations of the genre it chose. So many shots that just would not exist if it was actually found footage.
