i don't mean to downplay o3's geoguessr capabilities, which are quite astonishing, but "Any photo outdoors can be trivially location matched" and "I verified this, twice" i wish people understood that that ML systems don't generalize outside their training distribution.

it ended up taking me several hours to figure out I needed to make this change and discard phase 1 replies if we're already in phase 2. accepted messages that were not being proposed in phase 2 ended up sneaking in through log merging mechanism. more frequent leader switches masked this issue.
