And in Woltemade's goal Gabriel just loses the position to him and gets slightly pushed the same way Gabriel himself usually does in these kind of plays. Everything looked correct to me.

To me it looked like the right call. It's true that Pope trips Gyokeres, but he touches the ball first.

With midfielder I meant the CCB acting like a "mediocentro" (I can't remember the term in english) by stepping up one line to form a double pivot. I think it's a repeatable plan even for teams that don't usually play with 3 cbs and actually quite a challenge to Arteta to adapt.

Any chance teams will look for a 3-4-3 structure with a midfielder between 2 wide CBs and wingbacks upfield to get advantage of this weak spot in Arteta's plan?

Of course other days (like yesterday) things just doesn't go his way and the advantages are for PSG.

Well, that's something about his game that we've all seen since day one. Actually the most extraordinary thing about him is his high "win percentage" in those 50-50 situations in which he is under pressure but somehow manages to escape and create a huge advantage for his teamates.

Probably Nwaneri has some issue. It's so weird he didn't get to start vs Palace if he's not injured.

Maybe this off time has helped him to analyze his game a bit more. But yeah, suddenly he looks up instead to his laces when making a cross!!
April 14, 2025 at 6:15 PM
How is possible that suddenly he's making all the right decisions when before his injury he was always making the wrong one?

Do you really think Gyokeres is the kind of 9 Arsenal need? I think the best Arsenal (on offence) we've seen under Arteta was with Gabriel Jesús up top more as an associative profile rather than a pure striker (Gyokeres), wouldn't Isak fit better than him? Is he really that expensive? #arsecastextra

Adding Isak to the equation I think it would be a must for Arteta to win some major trophy.
Raya
Timber/White-Saliba-Gabriel-Calafiori/MLS
Ødegaard-Zubimendi-Rice
Saka-Isak-X
+ Nwaneri, Trossard, Martinelli, Havertz... looks like one of the best squads in Europe to me.

As I just answered on Tw: Rice-Zubimendi-Ødegaard and instead of signing another midfielder I would invert that money in a quality LW. Zubimendi is more than capable to play the ball from the back by himself so Rice can have more freedom to play more like 22/23 Xhaka as a facilitator in that LHS.

So am I. Specially knowing most RM fans call him a crybaby who ran away as a coward from the Madrid challenge insted of fighting for a place in midfield (Peak KCM). So it would be a double-pleasure to shut them up in such fashion. (I tweeted this today which explains it better)

Absolutely agree. This season he's been slightly above average (yesterday he was just above +0,4) but I demand more in order to match his CBs pair. Another flaw is his silly mistakes (ex: that cross he deflects to Saibari vs PSV which could have cost Arsenal the 1-0) that cost goals.

True. Felt way more comfortable on the ball. Obviously still catching strays on Tw but this performance could be a turning point in his season. Maybe it's too late...but if he plays well enough against ATM/RM while the atackers are slowly recovering... Arsenal might still have a chance!
