There's a story about a guy who came into AMO physics from cond-mat going after a speaker really aggressively in a talk, and being pulled aside afterwards by Aspect and Cohen-Tannoudji and told "We don't do that sort of thing in this community."

That's not a comprehensive list, just a bunch of Nobel laureates (plus two others) who I've enjoyed talking to. I could do several more such lists with slightly less well-known folks.
