Lowkey if it got revealed after the fact that they were a previous dev, I feel like they would've gotten a decent amt of harassment over it, and if it really is Dani, they've already had a bad experience from that

CinGray, the Uma movie and some of S2 I think are the best executions of the established Uma Musume "ethos"- they take what makes Uma specifically unique and plays really well into them

Like I genuinely can't tell you why some parts made me feel the way they did because looking at it objectively, it feels like I should be eye rolling or exasperated at those moments

S2 sucks in so many ways but somehow there's an invisible thread that crosses through and yanks in the second half so hard that you start feeling emotional without really knowing why

The basis of Uma really lends itself to really uniquely felt stories. Don't think you can get the same effect from most any other sport, even when based on irl, just part by virtue of the main characters not being human. Far from perfect ofc but still so interesting how it explores its concept
