some professional news: this was my first week as a full-time editor for print and digital (and columnist!) at @CNTraveler ✈️ 🌏 excited to regain my old Condé email from 11 years ago (and also for this new era) (and health insurance)

the Taittinger cellars are closed for renovations until 2024, so they do tastings in a (the?) residence of the count of champagne (!!), feat. a historical audio drama experience that, while a bit hokey, was at least different from what the other houses offer

my first conversation entirely in French after 3 years of not being in France was at Starbucks; i ordered a scone and a latté but was informed that the espresso machine was broken so i ordered a cold brew by saying “cœl brû” (i’m in Reims for a mini book leave)
